Plan ahead

Prepare for study abroad thoughtfully

Studying abroad involves academic goals as well as practical choices about housing, language, administration, and daily life.

Research the program first

Compare degree structure, teaching language, entry criteria, application deadlines, tuition, and the recognition of qualifications. Always use the university’s current admissions information.

Understand your language needs

Some programs teach in French and others in English. French-taught programs may ask for a particular CEFR level or accepted test result; requirements vary by institution and program.

Plan for the full experience

Budget for housing, insurance, transport, food, and emergency expenses. Visa and residence procedures depend on nationality and circumstances, so check the appropriate official authorities before travel.
